マハムニ母子寮へ！

【出張レポート】

わたしの滞在しているチッタゴン丘陵地帯からバスで３時間。

I visited "Mahamuni widow&helpless children welfare center" in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

広い道で乗り換え、細いくねくね道を進んでいくと、「マハムニ母子寮」があります。

１９７３年、当時６０歳であった渡辺さんというお坊さんの思いでスタートしたこの寄宿舎。

In 1973, after independent war, one Japanese monk Mr. Watanabe built this center.

At that time, he was 60 years old.

現在は現地のスタッフの方々、寮母さんと３代目の日本人の住職・山本さんがいらっしゃいます。

独立戦争後の当時は、旦那さんを失った女性もここにこれるようにしていたそう。

現在は１２０人の子どもたちが元気に生活しています。

Now class 1 to collage 120 children are staying together at hostel and go to school outside.

Mr. Natu who are graduated this center are directer at present.

I was impressed the heart of staffs here.

「おはようございます！」「ありがとう！」という子どもたちの姿を見ていると、

ここが何十年にもわたって多くの日本人の方に支えられてきたんだなあということを感じました。

All children know "Good morning" and "Thanks" in Japanese!

It means this place was supported by a lot of Japanese people for long time.

ここの子どもたちの心のキレイさは、世界一だと思います。

”生きる”それは楽しいことなんだ！嬉しいことなんだ！っていう日常に埋もれてしまう大切なこと。

たくさんのたくさんの話を一緒にしました。

また遊びに行くね！ありがとう！

I've never seen this beautiful children so far.

1年生から２時間のテスト！？

【ちぇれレポ】

「今日は算数のテストだよー！かんたんだよー！」

"We have math exam today-!!!　Easy easy-!!!"

なんと、小学校1年生から、ひと科目２時間のテストらしいです(＠_＠;)！

ながっ！集中力、もつのかしら。

I was surprised that even Class1 students take 2-hour-exam for each subject!!

彼女たちから学ぶこと。

おばちゃんたちに教わること。

What I learn here from women in the village.

わが子でも他人の子でも関係ないってこと。

It's a not matter that this is my child or your child.

Children have to be grew in diversity.

孤独な子育てとか、孤独死とか、そんなのが存在する社会が、

お金があっても「豊か」とは言えないってこと。

Mom should not be alone, person should not die alone.

Money cannot make a richness of emotion or spirit. 

今日、思いっきり誰かと一緒に笑ったか。

家族とごはんをおいしく食べたか。

ばあちゃんじいちゃんに優しくしたか。

Did you laugh with someone from the bottom of your heart?

Did you eat dinner with your family?

Did you gently care for your grandpa&grandma?

人と時間を共有することの大事さ。

It is precious to share your time with someone.

幸せとか豊かさって「ひと」と「ひと」つながりで構成される。

"Happiness" and "Richness of the mind and heart" are consist of in the community.

大学で勉強してきたわたしの頭の中の「国際協力」「途上国支援」

そんな言葉の意味や意義を、

根本からひっくり返してくれるこのおばちゃんたちの笑顔。

I've been studied "international cooperation" and " aid to developing countries" in university.

But their way of lives have changed my image of concepts of there words.

”なにかしてあげる”ことなんかより”学ばせてもらう”ことのほうが、

実ははるかに多いのかもしれない。

What I am given from them might be much more than what I can give them.

なんでもない時間と空間。

やっと村に帰ってきたー！

ほっとする顔がある嬉しさ＾＾

この地域にある、なんでもない空間と時間がすごく好き。

Finally,

I came back to Rangapani village at Rangamati, Bangladesh!

I really like the people and community here.

ちぇれめいえサポーターの山田さんご夫妻が、

モノゴールを訪問してくださいました！

「日本人がはるばる来てくれた！」

毎回こどもたちはとっても喜んでくれます。

子どもたちと触れ合う時間。

それが普段は触れない外国と触れたり、

新しいつながりを通して

外の世界に興味を持つきっかけになっていったらいいなあと思っています。

日本人にとっても、新しい気づきがたくさん。

帰国後、

バングラでの経験をお友達にシェアしてもらえたら嬉しいです。

【ちぇれレポート】

今日は、首都ダッカの国連ビルで

国連ボランティアの方が開いてくださった団体の意見交換会に

ちぇれめいえも参加させていただきました。

ジェンダーや教育、貧困に対してさまざまなアプローチで活動する、

わたしたちと同じ年齢層のバングラデシュの大学生とのディスカッションは

とっても刺激を与えてくれました。

一緒に取り組めることも見つかりそうです！

☆18th of November, 3 volunteer organizations visited our UNV office and shared activities information each other. Although they are working in different fields, all of them are challenging something to create a better society. Thank you for your participation, volunteers!

仏教の祭典でなぜかわたしがテープカット。

コティン・チボル・ダン（Kathin Chibor Dan）という大きなお祭に行ってきました。

　

11月に行われる丘陵地帯の仏教の祭で、

女性たちが夜を徹して綿から糸を紡ぎ、染め、

24時間以内に法衣を織り上げて僧侶たちに奉納するもの。

地元の人たちにとって、とてもとても大事な儀式です。

おばちゃんも幼稚園児も高校生もおじいちゃんもみんな集まる。

There was big Buddhism festival tonight.
Women wave the clothes all the night and dedicate for monks.
Many people got together and prayed.



エラいお坊さんの長い長いお経のあと、なぜかいきなり
「さて今日は日本からゲストがこの祭に参加してくれております。
彼女からひとこといただきましょう。」という流れに。

「チャクマ語でよろしくね」とマイクを渡される・・・
７００人以上の人を前に、何を話したのかもはや覚えていません。

毎年、一番エラいお坊さんがやるはずのテープカットもわたしに・・・笑

I also had a opportunity to tell my feelings in front of everyone.
They said "Talk in Chakma language(indigenous language)!!"

日本の夏祭りのような、屋台もたくさんでした。




でもひとついつも気になるのは、
写真にあるようにこの地域の祭や式典には

警察がたくさん見張っているということ。

今年起こった、入植者による寺の焼き討ち事件のあと、
安全のために警察が配備されるようになったんだそうです。
