村へ、村へ！

最近、時間が空くたびに、

卒論も視野に入れながら、村の中に入って「ショミティ」という

村の人たちが自発的に作る相互援助グループの調査へ出かけています。

Recently I often go to village to research about "Somity" in community.

The members of this group "Somity" help their lives each other .

例えば、構成メンバーは全員村のおばちゃん、月々１００円ずつを集めて貯金して、

子どもの病気、牛を新しく購入したい、家を修理したい、

そんなときにそのストックから借りれるショミティがあったりします。

１００円借りたら１０２円返す（つまり利子２％）というちゃんとしたシステムも。

I will explain one Somity as an example.

All women of the group save 1 dollar per month each.

They stock the money all together and when someone from the member really need money,

 she can use from the stocked.

Disease of child, purchasing new cow, repairing a house,,,, 

If you use 100 dollars, you need to return 102 dollars.

農民ショミティ、おばちゃんショミティ、タクシーの運ちゃんショミティ、、、

バラエティ豊か。

相互援助、なんていう固い言葉はあんまり似合わなくって、

月に１回集金のために集まってみんなで食べる昼ごはんがおいしかったり、

年に１度、貯めてきたお金でちょっと贅沢してピクニックに行ったりしてる。

Farmer somity, women somity, driver somity...various!

once a month they gather, have a meeting and eat lunch together;)

or go to picnic to enjoy once a year with the saving little money. 

ひとつテーマをもって村へ行くと、コミュニティーの見え方が全く違うものです。

聞いた新しい情報を手がかりに、また違う場所へ違う人へ話を聞きに行く。

When I can get new information, I will visit there soon.

本当に自発的に始まって現在も２０年近く続いているショミティや、

政府やUNDPが資金を出して始まったもののお金の切れ目が縁の切れ目になって、

いまはカタチだけ、なんていうところも多い。

Some somity have been over 20 years which started by only local.

Some soimity had been started with project money by government or UNDP 

but once those projects are over, the connection was also over. 

地域に元気がある。人間に活力がある。

そのヒントがここにあるのかもしれない。

まだまだ勉強不足。先行研究も知らないと。

The energy of community, the power of people.

We may find out the key from here.

I need to study more, know more.

難関は唯一。

インタビューがすべてチャクマ語（民族語）なこと。笑

そろそろ日常生活には困らないレベルにはなってるけど、

細かい調査は「ん(..)？」ってなることもしばしば。

The problem is .... all the interviews are in Chakma language.(indigenous language)

Nowadays I'm not worried about having daily conversation but research is........haha

そうするとみんな集まってきて

わたしを理解させようとしてくれるけど、

それも全部チャクマ語だからね。笑

If I cannot get some points,

many many people come and help to make me understood, 

but those are also all in Chakma again! haha
