日本からのおみやげ！ひこーき！

日本語クラスもとっている、7年生の生徒たち。
昨日から8年生になりました！



私ごとになりますが、父母が年末年始に子どもたちを訪ねてくれたときのおみやげ。

「紙？プラモデルひこーき」「たけとんぼ」

そのとき残念ながらみんなは冬休みで帰省していたので、
おみやげは、昨日渡すことになりました。

昨日の授業は、1時間、まるまる飛行機を飛ばして遊びまくる日。
いくつもの飛行機や竹トンボが、池に墜落し、

屋根にのっかり、通行人の頭に突っ込み、げらげら笑う1時間でした。

授業が終わるころは、クラスの生徒じゃない子たちもみんな参戦していて、

とっても楽しい時間になりました。

なんと王様がうちの村に来るんだってさ！

そういって、村の人たちは、みんな一番とっておきの服を着て登場。

Everyone wore special dress on this social visit day of King. 

これが、チャクマ女性の民族衣装の最も基本的な色と柄。

わたしがプロフィール写真で着てるのは、

ちょっとアレンジカジュアル版。

These are basic color&pattern of Chakma traditional dress.

The dress of my profile picture is more casual one;)

この村の少女たちはわたしが外国人だとわかると民族語ではなくベンガル語で話しかけてくれてた。

でも、話した子たちの中では、

学校に一度も行ったことがない女の子が多かった。

Many of girls who I talked together(in this pic) in this village have no chance to go to school.

We talk a lot, we had great time!

汚くなるからやめなさい、
ケガすると困るからやめなさい、
迷惑をかけないようにしなさい、
5時までに帰って来なさい・・・
Their parents never tell them
"Don't do that! your shirt will get dirty!!!"
"You must come back until 5 p.m.!" e.t.c...



そんなことを言う大人はいませんから、
子どもは本当に子どもらしく育つわけです。
They grow in good health surrounded by beautiful nature.

「異学年の交流」とか、
「自然なんとか教室」とか、
それが不自然なものなのです。そもそも。
Children grow as children!

【山岳地帯への旅、見聞録。その３】 歩いて行ける距離に学校がある。

「家から歩いて行ける距離に学校がある」という場合、

その「歩いて行ける距離」とは「2時間以内」ということなのでしょうか。苦笑

When you were primary school student, how long did it take from your house to school?

子どもたちは、こんなふうに、

文字通り、川を越え、山を越え、学校へ通っていました。

（みんなで毎日、助け合って川を越える。雨季には小舟で渡る。）

I met many children who were going to school like this pic.

Crossing the river, going over a mountain, walking walking walking...!

(They said they cross this river by small boat in rainy season.)

しかし、丘陵地帯の山奥の村々には、

あるとしても多くの場合、小学校（1年生～5年生）しかありません。

But there are not many schools after class 5 in the village in the hill tracts.

わたしも現在滞在している寄宿舎学校モノゴール

（ちぇれめいえprojectが応援している子どもたちが寝泊まりしながら学ぶ）の生徒数が、

6年生から一気にどっと増えるのは、

こういった山岳地帯の子どもたちが家から通える中学校がないために、

家を離れ寄宿し学び始めるからです。

This is the reason why a lot of class 6 students come to get admission every year 

to Moanoghar residential school which I am doing volunteer work now. 

If they want to continue study, 

they need to leave their home and start to stay residential school.

小学校の種類はいろいろでした。

公立、NGO、ユニセフ、半官半民、コミュニティースクール・・・

I saw many kinds of primary school.

Government, NGO, UNICEF, semi‐governmental, community school...e.t.c

みんな、たくましいわけだこりゃ！

What athletic children!!

【山岳地帯への旅、見聞録。その２】湖と田植え。

田植えの季節です。

化学肥料も機械もありません。

「田植えかい？１年に２回だよ！」

「時期？ん～わからんねー、土が見えてきたらだよ～あっはっはー」

Rice‐planting season!

Without any chemical fertilizer and machine here.

これはカプタイ湖の水。

雨季には、湖の水かさが増え、

この写真に写っている田んぼはすべて水の下。

手漕ぎボートが行きかう場所になります。

The water here is from Kaptai lake.

In rainy season, the volume of water becomes high and these rice field is all under the water.

Small boats are seen coming and going here.

1月、２月はその水がだんだん引いていく時期。

土が見えてきた場所から、こうやって手作業で植えていく。

The volume of water become lower and lower on January and February.

It is the season they transplant rice seedlings now!

山と田んぼが広がる景色は、なんだか懐かしい気がしました。

The scenery of mountain and rice field made me feel that I came back to Japan;)

Small report of 4-day-trip to rural area, Chittagong Hill Tracts. No.1

初日にボートから見た光景。

カプタイ湖に浮かぶ島。

小さな島には動物だけがいたり、

大きな島には１００家族が住んでいたり。

I took this pic from the boat on first day.

でも、「島」です。

家やお寺を建てる際には、

材料は外から持ってきます。

In Kaptai lake there are many islands.

(Actually those are not "island", historically huge land had disappeared under the artificial lake. )

この写真、よく見ると、ボートで運んできたレンガを、

男の人も女の人も、若者もおばあちゃんも、

日差しが照りつける中、

みんな一列になってボートから島の頂上までバケツリレーしています。

Can you see a lot of people are making line from the lake to the top of hill?

Men, women, young, elder people...

They are passing blocks one by one...like bucket brigade!

道はみんなでつくる、家はみんなで建てる。

この村（島？）の絆はきっととても深くて強いんだろうなと感じました。

Making roads by themselves, building houses by themselves.

Community or regional cooperation and integration still remain undefeated here.

地域の居場所の主。

コミュニティセンターとか、公民館とか、児童館とか作らなくても、

地域にはみんなの居場所がある。

お年寄りも小学生もお母さんも赤ちゃんも、

なんでもない時間を目的もなく一緒に過ごす空間がある。

そんな場所の主、大好きなお茶屋さんのおっちゃん。
